We Want A New Pet...

Over the course of my short life, my family has had many pets, some of them being on the other side of normal.

  • We had a pot belly pig, named Stormy, who loved belly rubs.
  • We've had dogs.
  • We've had ferrets.
  • We've had cats.
  • We've had rabbits.
  • We've had turtles.
  • We've had dove, rolling pigeons, and a blue quail, along with chickens, ducks, and geese.
  • We have a pony and a miniature mule.
  • We've had goats.
  • We've had horses.
  • We had a pet bull that we used to ride.
  • We had an armadillo who was a pet of his own volition, not ours. Seriously.

Okay, you get the picture.
And, every time an old pet passes on in life, we talk about getting a new pet.
For a couple of years now, Kris and I have wanted to get into falconry. We have wanted to each get our own falcon and train it, and maybe even get into competitions.
We have also wanted to get exotic birds, like Budgerigars. They're cute, they're pretty, they're easy to care for, and they can be trained to be a constant companion. What's not to like about a little bird like that??
We have talked about raising mini horses and showing them.
We've even talked about breeding and raising ferrets.
BUT...... recently, we have thrown all our other 'new pet' ideas to the wind for a different idea.
Oh yes. This idea blows ALL the others out of the water and into the wind.
The new pet we would like to have is.....
Drum roll....
Marmoset Monkeys!!

These little guys only grow to be about 6-8" long and are possibly the easiest of monkey's to keep as pets.
Their price range, from what we have found, is around $800 to $3000. Affordable, right?
