My favorite Holiday, since I was very young, has been Thanksgiving. I don't know why, but I have always preferred Thanksgiving over any other holiday.
Maybe it was the one time of year where people actually counted their blessings.
Perhaps it was the peaceful spirit of fellowship that people would take on.
It might have been the kind feeling of when no one expected for themselves, but remembered the kindness' of others.
Or maybe it was just the awesome Mannheim Steamroller music that my mom would dig up around this time of year and play all day long while we cooked delicious food and ate it like a bunch of gluttons.
Either way, it was, (and still is), my favorite holiday, even over Christmas.
Forget Easter! Easter stunk. It meant long, drawn out sermons and a bunch of kids my age expecting a stupid bunny rabbit to lay eggs! Easter was the time of year when everyone lost their mind, dressed in pink, and had 'cute, soft, & fuzzy' feelings. D-I-S-T-U-R-B-I-N-G.
Valentines was just weird. Still is. Women get all starry eyed and some men, the ones that aren't hiding, start buying roses.
St. Patrick's Day was probably the next 'holiday' that I really liked. One reason was because it was in the spring, my favorite time of year. The next reason was because I could be violent toward other people and have a good excuse for it.....in other words, I could pinch people that weren't wearing green, and I could get away with it. Mwahahahaha!
