I posted this last year in December, but I thought it would be good to post it again. ;-)
Do's and Don’ts:
Stop all caffeine and other stimulants
Eat lots of fruits & veggies, especially the ones rich in vitamin C
Stop eating all nightshade veggies (potatoes, tomatoes, all peppers, eggplants, paprika)
Take some good multivitamins and drink LOTS of water
Tips for withdrawal and cravings:
Chew sunflower seeds for nerve calming effect
Dissolve 1TBSP of baking soda in 12 ounces of water & sip throughout the 12 hour day for extreme cravings
Vitamin B3 lessens cravings considerably while trying to stop smoking
Vitamin C helps to detox & relax. Take 1000mg 3 times a day
Plantain tea and Lobelia helps reduce cravings
Chewing on a small piece of Ginger Root will help both fight cravings and improve breath
Pine Bark and Grape-seed extracts have a powerful antioxidant effect. 50Mg of either 2 or 3 times daily
After 7 days, most of the withdrawal will be over with. Slowly start reintroducing the nightshade veggies one at a time, but watch for allergic reactions to these plants. Often nicotine addiction can be made worse by being allergic to these certain plants. Any food that provokes a reaction should be eliminated from your diet.
Reactions could be runny nose, sneezing and itching, to irritability, nausea, bloating and increased pulse rate.
