We have puppies. They are 6 weeks old and ready to begin looking for new homes. I hate waiting until they are 8 weeks old to start finding new homes. They bond so much better if they begin getting to know their new family before earlier. (My personal opinion) Well, I’ve decided to post the darlings here. Maybe you know someone needing a new baby in their family. Mommy to the puppies is a working Australian Shepherd. She loves herding; cattle, children, goats… She gets over exuberant sometimes, but we didn’t raise her and we don’t herd regularly. When we first got her, early this summer, she herded Sister # 3 and actually knocked her down. She came in crying, Blaze had knocked her down & she skinned her knee. I racked my brain trying to think of why this loving dog would do that. Then it occurred to me, I had sent her to the neighbor’s for something. Blaze knew the children belong in the yard, so she was concerned we had an escapee and was trying to get her back in the yard. Nineyniney is a fast runner, so Blaze’s attempt at herding her turned into a wreck. You could tell Blaze felt awful about hurting one of the babies. She’s a really sweet hearted dog and tries to protect the family. She has a mean sounding bark, so the telephone and electric company guys will stay in their trucks and call for us to bring her inside for them to do their job. I like that. I always know when we have company & don’t have to worry about a strange man coming to the door. She also LOVES playing ball and frisbee.
Daddy of the puppies is a Golden Retriever. He’s got the nicest “family dog” temperament. He’s gun-shy and I don’t know if he’s ever thrown a hunting dog puppy. It may depend on training. I’m not sure. He’s a bit small for his breed and he has curly fir, so he’s not the “picture perfect” Golden Retriever. He’s got a great personality though and is wonderful with the children. He will play ball as long as none of the other dogs is in the way. He’s a gentleman and will let the ladies have the ball.
Puppy #1 is a gold male with a stubby tail (the stubby tails are natural for Australian Shepherds, some people like them completely cropped, but we just couldn’t do it…) He is a bit reserved and laid back, but loves individual attention.
Puppy #2 is a gold male with a long tail. He is VERY friendly and will follow you anywhere. He also loves toys. He is already wanting to chase balls!
Puppy #3 is a gold female with a long tail (sitting). She is Very, Very friendly and loves to be with people.
Puppy #4 is a black male with a white spot on his chest and a medium length tail. His fur is a bit curly and he likes to bark when he’s not getting the attention.
Puppy #5 is a black female with a long tail (sitting). She has curly fir and is friendly, but a bit more stand-off-ish. She probably has more of the Aussie temperament, but one on one she is very sweet.
If you have a friend who needs a friendly, four-legged companion, please tell them about these babies. We want them to go to loving homes preferably as working/hunting companions or for families with active children. They will need room to run and someone to play or work with. We appreciate any help you can give! Blessings to all! Have a great week!
