What is the most important trait that you can have? Well, what does the Bible say?
1 Corinthians 13:13 – And now abideth faith, hope, and charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Galatians 5:6 - For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Galatians 5:22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Ephesians 3:17-19 - That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Ephesians 4:16 - From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
|
Ephesians 5:2 - And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.
|
Colossians 1:8 - Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
Colossians 3:14 - And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
1 Timothy 6:11 - But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness
1 John 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
So, why is love the most important trait? Because God knows that if you will be a loving person, all the other goodness's will fall into place. Also, because people will know that we are a true Christian by our love.
This was just a very simple Bible Study that I did this morning, but I thought I would share it!
