So, yesterday's challenge was: "Go sit in a public place and eavesdrop on a conversation. Turn what you hear into a short love story (no matter how much you have to twist what they say)."
But, that didn't work out so well...
Actually, I was really happy because it so happened that I was in fact going to be in a public place, which is unusual. I am usually at home, or working (and cattle aren't considered good conversation pieces). So I was excited because this was actually going to work out for me!
However.... when I got to the public place (which was a craft show) the problem I was faced with soon became evident to my slow-to-accept-facts brain: I couldn't hear any conversations to eavesdrop on.
Yes. I had forgotten that I am HOH. When I am at home, or working, or if I am having a one-on-one conversation, my hearing issue doesn't bug me. But when I am in a public place or in a large group of people, my 70% loss of hearing quickly becomes noticeable....to me, anyway. Most people don't notice, but generally those are the ones that I have one-on-one conversations with. Haha....
Anyway, Kris tried to help me out and tell me the bits of conversations she heard, but we finally gave up, went outside, and took pictures instead. We also met two published authors while we were there, and we spent some time talking to them: Writer, speaker, and humorist Elaine Littau, and Author and speaker Sherrilyn Polf Both of them were very wonderful ladies, and both gave me a lot of advice and tips. The really were an encouragement and inspiration to me, motivating me in a way that I have not been motivated in for some time now. They even inspired Kris.
Please click their names above and look at their books!
Mrs. Littau has a very large and exciting looking series that is set in the 1800's.
Mrs. Polf has a book series in progress set during World War 2 that Kris is especially excited about.
Please do consider adding them to your library.

So, after yesterday's events, and especially since we got home late last night, I decided to skip day 10's challenge and move on to day 11.
But before I go on with the challenge, I will show you the pictures Kris and I took yesterday:
If you have read The Hunger Games, you will understand...

Isn't she lovely?

Kris and Me = Bestest friends....

So now, the challenge for Day 11:
Write the acknowledgments page that will be placed in your first (next?) published book, thanking all the people who have helped you along the way.

Acknowledgments
First, I want to thank my Heavenly Father, Protector, and Guide. Honestly, without Him, I would not be here on earth to write this.
Next, I want to thank my mother. She was the one who accepted and encouraged me when the "Novel-Writing Bug" hit me. She helped me to improve my writing and grammar, she helped me find my writing style, and she was a model for my more logical and ladylike characters. But above all, she encouraged me relentlessly through the whole thing, and still encourages me to go further. For that, I thank her.
I also thank my dad for being a good role model. He showed me, unknowingly, how a real man, a gentleman and chivalrous knight, should act and think. He taught me not only about good character and conduct, but about character flaws also. He helped me see what made a good man....and what made a not-so-good man. He was the model for the hero.
I also want to thank my friends who showed tireless enthusiasm about this book, even when I believed there was nothing to be enthusiastic about.
I especially want to thank the few published authors who encouraged me, gave me tips, and helped me in so many ways. Honestly, without you guys, I would have given up at some point. You inspired me.
And I also want to thank my poor, abused, but highly outstanding characters. They have put up with a lot from me and should be, at the very least, thanked for it.
