White Sands - A World of Wonder

If you ever have a chance, you should go visit White Sands National Park. It is very awesome and you can learn a lot there while having a lot of fun!

White Sands National Park: Alamogordo, NM

It looks like snow, but it's not. It is actually pure Gypsum!

Some of the sand dunes were 18' tall.

Depending on what part of the park they are in, some of the sand dunes will move 13' a year!

The gypsum made me feel like I was standing on a pile of spilled grits and it tasted like salt!

The sunset was BEAUTIFUL!

The wind formed interesting patterns in the sand.

The water table is only 2 foot below the sand line, so plant life flourishes in White Sands!
