White Sands National Park: Alamogordo, NM |
It looks like snow, but it's not. It is actually pure Gypsum! |
Some of the sand dunes were 18' tall. |
Depending on what part of the park they are in, some of the sand dunes will move 13' a year! |
The gypsum made me feel like I was standing on a pile of spilled grits and it tasted like salt! |
The sunset was BEAUTIFUL! |
The wind formed interesting patterns in the sand. |
The water table is only 2 foot below the sand line, so plant life flourishes in White Sands! |
